I got to work on time.
Despite an earlier than normal school bus that almost left my kids,
Despite a reading project that got left behind that I had to deliver to school,
Despite a bus load of children yelling at me that there was a half-day today that I did not know about,
Despite my missing the turn during my drive to work.
Despite my having to leave work earlier than planned due to the half-day of the children,
I survived my first day of work.
And I bought another pair of shoes.
