Today my friend SL (not the nun) taught me a new phrase.
Instead of saying:
"I have to ....."
She said we should replace it with:
"I get to ...."
What a simple yet effective way to reprogram one's brain to make the switch from whining to being appreciative.
If you are like me and deciding to go about life "not dreading and not dwelling" than you'll find that it is pretty effective.
