“Be not the slave of your own past. Plunge into the sublime seas, dive deep and swim far, so you shall come back with self-respect, with new power, with an advanced experience that shall explain and overlook the old.” ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

"The street is full of humiliations to the proud."-Emerson
A street in Houston Texas.
Photo by: Milena of Leaping Thought.
Chesca Boulevard is a wide, two-way thoroughfare.
It has several points of interest.
There is something for everyone.
Even the novice parallel parker is welcome as diagonal parking is a-plenty.
Chesca has a landscaped island separating the lanes.
The median is a venue for many carnivals, festivals and the occasional traveling circus.
After extreme weather, heavy traffic and after the clowns go...
it needs to be closed for renovation.
(What exactly did Ralph Waldo Emerson mean when he wrote "The street is full of humiliations to the proud." Will you please explain it to me?)
