“Be not the slave of your own past. Plunge into the sublime seas, dive deep and swim far, so you shall come back with self-respect, with new power, with an advanced experience that shall explain and overlook the old.” ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

Nobody's Life is Perfect
Imagine going through life where every 14 out of 28 days you feel:
-like not getting up and facing the world.
-unable to get motivated.
-like you are viewing the world with a long and dark lens.
-totally exhausted (either due to not enough sleep or too much sleep).
-like you can't stand the things you normally love
(like the sound of your kids voices...or people ...or music....or food...or shows....the sound of the phone ringing...or baths)
-desperate and trapped.
-pain.
-unable to concentrate or focus.
-edgy and tense.
-unable to commit to anything and have the desire to cancel commitments all the time.
Premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD) is not another word for PMS.
And if you think it is, I suggest you give me wide berth.
Both PMDD and PMS share symptoms in common that include depression, anxiety, tension, irritability and moodiness.
The difference is: PMDD is disruptive to life.
Only in the recent years has PMDD been recognized by the medical community.
There still exists controversy about whether this should be considered a mental disease or not.
My feeling is, if it is something brought on by hormones--shouldn't this be treated like a physical illness?
Whatever the case, it is real--
just ask Steve.
Proof that I fight PMDD here.
Also in an effort to alleviate PMDD,
I walked 1 mile today.
It took me 20 minutes.
yay, me.
