Psalm 121

"I'm not gonna lie..."  (<- this)
I recently sent a message to my prayer couple from New York, asking for prayers.
I was struggling with my daughter.
The 17 year old.
She and I have opposing views on how I should parent her.
If I could throw in the towel,  I would, but I don't because I know I shouldn't.
So I sent the prayer SOS to NYC.
The response I got (aside from a phone-a-friend, which I totally appreciated)
was a directive to read Psalm 121: 1-8.
And to be sure that I read it, the verses were texted to me:

“I will lift up my eyes to the hills— From whence comes my help? My help comes from the LORD, Who made heaven and earth. He will not allow your foot to be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, He who keeps Israel Shall neither slumber nor sleep. The LORD is your keeper; The LORD is your shade at your right hand. The sun shall not strike you by day, Nor the moon by night. The LORD shall preserve you from all evil; He shall preserve your soul. The LORD shall preserve your going out and your coming in From this time forth, and even forevermore.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭121:1-8‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

So I read it dutifully and prayerfully.

The next day, Kika ended up breaking her foot while playing basketball.
I re-read this verse and suddenly the words:
"He will not allow your foot to be moved" jumped out at me.
Amazing how a seemingly unfortunate episode-like a broken foot--can end up alleviating a situation. Her broken right (driving) foot allowed us some time to get grounded and centered.
I think God was giving us a break.
