My General Rule When I Am At A Bar Or Restaurant Is to Order An Item That I Can NOT Make Or Pour For Myself.

So on my Do-Not-Order list:
1. Sunny side up eggs.
2. Fried bacon.
3. Vodka on the rocks.
4. White rice.
5. Cup of tea.
6. Raw vegetables.
7. Fried pork chops.
8. Fried fish.
9. Grilled chicken.
10. Fruit salad.

You get the idea.
I can fry, peel and most certainly slice anything.

I have made an exception for McDonald's Grilled Chicken Asian salad with Sesame Ginger dressing on the side.
This convenient salad makes me cheerful.

I made a colossal mistake the other day.
I absentmindedly lined up at the
'10 items or less' checkout at Wholefoods.
Steve met me at the cash register and did not think to look at where I was standing.
He trusted that among the 44 things on his No-Not-Ever list, having more than the right number at an express checkout is something that he and I agreed on.
But I was distracted.
(probably by my new Keens)
When Steve realized our (MY) faux pas,  he apologized to people around us and offered to move to a different lane.
Both the cashier and the woman behind us,  graciously told us not worry about our (MY) mistake.
After the first bag was rung up, Steve took it and stood at a safe distance away from me.
Both the cashier and the woman behind us had a good chuckle about how Steve was embarrassed to be "one of those" violators of the '10 or less' lane.
I was chuckling with them on the outside but nervous on the inside.
Once in the car,  I was expecting Steve to freak out on me.
He did not.
I find that amazing.
We got home and proceeded to eat.
Suddenly though, without a warning--Steve pushed away his perfectly constructed salad.
He pulled a lone long strand of hair from his overpriced organic produce.
While Kika, Gabi and I are completely unfazed by such,
('tis a gift)
Steve is unbending about this.
He was done.
I find that amazing.
Steve is teaching me to sift through what is truly important.
He is becoming someone that thinks that life is too short to get upset about mistakes however,  he firmly believes that life is too short to eat someone else's unwashed hair...organic or not.
