Expectant Faith

In my bulldog's mind, he is a lap dog.
He thinks it and acts upon it.
At first I try to resist the awkward juxtaposition of limbs, paws, legs, knees and bellies. Mine and his.
But then after he, bulldoggedly climbs onto me, I find myself getting swept along.
I adjust myself and my cup of coffee to accommodate his burly body upon me. I sit with him on my lap on a glider, a gift from my FIL after the arrival of our firstborn.
Twelve years later, I am now rocking Pax, a three year old bulldog.
Pax is the epitome of one who practices positive or creative visualization.
He sees neither his size, his weight nor the space provided as a hindrance to what he wants.
He acts rather matter of fact about it and owns it.
Another term for this is:
Expectant Faith.
Pray for what you want and be thankful for it already. Expect that you will get what is good for you, your life and those whose lives you touch.
