In a quest for normalcy or in  keeping with this trend of self flagellation, I did my last lunch duty yesterday.
That, my friend, in a long line of things that I did not want to do--was on the top of the list, even on a good day.
Assigned the even more punishing task of monitoring the children outdoors, I was also asked to be the
BELL RINGER, summoning Pavlovian responses from children being alerted to line-up  and end their guided freedom.
The knowledge that you can not un-ring the bell
made me decline the task of running outdoor recess like clockwork.
