Tree Hugging

Thank you to my one reader, Mom. Your one comment has inspired me to write more.
My friends, that is an act of faith.
I have likened writing on this blog to that philosophical riddle:
"If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?"
If I write and no one reads it--are my observations still valid? and do they count as reality?
Don't answer that.
Speaking of trees falling,
I was gleefully home alone one day, detangling christmas lights and  stringing them up.
Suddenly the tree started falling.  On me.
I caught it with my head.
As I tried to prop up an 8' tree with one hand while trying to tighten the screws at its base with my other hand--I thought to myself, well this is ironic.
Seldom are my SEVEN ++  other family members not around to "put the screws" to me and yet here I will end up dying ALONE crushed under a christmas tree.
The tree and I survived while giving new meaning to the phrase: tree hugger.
All this just to remind you all to:
1. Be careful what you wish for.
2. secure your christmas tree by anchoring it to a wall or window frame . (I used some wire and a staple gun)
3. prevent house fires by keeping your fresh tree watered and turning off your lights when you go to bed or leave the house. (thank you Erica)
Also important:
What happens under the mistletoe stays under the mistletoe.
(reads the sign on our front door given to us by the Lewands)

Pictures and video to follow.
