“Be not the slave of your own past. Plunge into the sublime seas, dive deep and swim far, so you shall come back with self-respect, with new power, with an advanced experience that shall explain and overlook the old.” ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

March Madness
Easter with the Grecos, my brother's in-laws.
Steve had a recent medical scare.
It was 1 AM and he woke me clutching his chest, his face in a panic.
He proceeded to give me a brush up course on CPR, told me where an ambulance should take him and then get this...he declared his love for me.
That is when I knew it was serious.
I jumped out of bed and gave him 4 bayer aspirins 81 mg. each.
He is okay.
Needless to say, I have been a bit worried about the man's health.
When I worry, I start obsessively cleaning.
This worked out well since I had house guests the first weekend of March.

Right after my guests left, I decided to paint my entire kitchen.
We had invited Kika's basketball team and their families for a party here.
Whether I was cleaning due to worry or just out of plain embarrassment about our piggery, I don't know.
The party was a success with the kids' parents singing karaoke before the night was over.

After all that cleaning and entertaining, I was still worried about Steve's health that I started having trouble sleeping again.
So I dug into my reserve "aid."
As I said before, the thing about this aid is that it makes you sleep but there is always that possibility that you will do something odd.
Like take a phone call from a long lost college buddy and discuss menstrual cycles with him.
I hung around with a large rambunctious group when I was a freshman in college.
I lost touch with them after I shifted to a different campus.
Anyway, through the wonderful web we found each other.
They were having a get-together wanted to know if I would join them.
Imagine my friend's surprise when after we had not spoken for 20 years, I had a bizarre conversation with him and then promptly went to sleep in the middle of it all.
Steve had to apologize to him and end the conversation for me.
(Strangely enough, I was still invited to the reunion...)
(Pictures from my reunion here)
And now my parents are here visiting.

This is why I have not written in so long.
