Salut...Jacques Mayol

Jacques Mayol, known to many in the free-diving world
as the father of the sport, took his own life on December 2001.
He was 74.
He suffered from depression.

What made him tired?
Who was most hurt?
Who was he angry at?
What was he not afraid of?
and... what was he afraid of?

Depression is different for men and women.
Women are diagnosed with depression more often than men
however, men are more likely to commit suicide than women.
This is not natural selection at work.
Contrary to Darwin's theory that more favorable traits become more common in the next generation,
the act of suicide passes on a long term, negative effect onto
whomever it hurts.
