“Be not the slave of your own past. Plunge into the sublime seas, dive deep and swim far, so you shall come back with self-respect, with new power, with an advanced experience that shall explain and overlook the old.” ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

The Proprietor of Hotel California
This looks interesting.
Lucky for me, I have a fantastic place to stay in San Francisco.
The place is owned by an extremely accomodating couple.
When I get there, I am welcomed like family. (well-liked family, that is)
Limo service, room service-scrambled eggs, tour guide (Alcatraz, Haight-Ashbury, Golden Gate bridge, Fisherman's wharf, pinoy food), free concert tickets with back stage access (and that's why vanessa carlton stepped on steve's foot) -the works.
But most important of all, is the great relationship the proprietor has with my daughters.
When they were babies he did diaper duty but now that they are older, he entertains them with train rides and walks around his neighborhood.
He makes an effort to get to know them and for them to know him.
(He's always on the phone, with my children)
He genuinely cares for my whole family.
Since its the proprietor's birthday today, I just wanted him to know that he is appreciated. (Boy this blogging business sure beats sending gifts)
(Also, please reserve my regular room for the 25th of November.
I'll be coming alone, as Steve is not too keen on the Mr. Filipino/USA pageant--or any male pageant for that matter.)
